Nitrazepam during pregnancy and lactation, Nitrazepam category by FDA, its use during pregnancy and lactation its teratogenic effects are described.

Small amount of drug excrete into breast milk, if required low dose should be prescribed.

Nitrazepam drug crosses the placenta during pregnancy, congenital malformations associated with the use of minor tranquilizers (i.e., chlordiazepoxide, diazepam, meprobamate) during the first trimester of pregnancy. There are no adequate studies in pregnant women.

Breast feeding

Nitrazepam no recommendation regarding use during lactation.
