Azilsartan use during pregnancy

Azilsartan, like other medications in the angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) class, is generally not recommended for use during pregnancy due to the potential risks it poses to the developing fetus. The use of ARBs, including azilsartan, during pregnancy has been associated with adverse outcomes, particularly during the second and third trimesters.

Pregnancy     Category D             ( by FDA )

                       Category  (N/A)       (AU TGA )

In Australia, medications are classified according to the Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA). However, I don't have specific information on the pregnancy category assigned to azilsartan by the TGA.
